As previously noted, Eset will only examine the link in the cache when it is actually accessed. Just dump Avast and install Eset and your issue will be resolved. The reason I dont think this is an false positive is because the virustotal detections arent generic detections, they specifically call it an rootkit, though like any pirated/cracked/torrented software, it may be because of obfuscation, which antiviruses get easily triggered by. I suspect whatever Avast is detecting is being repopulated in the cache from one of those extensions. I would also take a close look at whatever extensions you have installed. This will ensure the cache is always cleared at browser shutdown. My experience with FireFox has been that the only way to ensure its cache is always cleared is to run in permanent private mode. Still, point is that avast keeps reporting it despite me not visiting that website.Ĭache was I suppose cleared when I reinstalled mozilla few days ago, so this should not have appeared at all. Yesterday I atleast tried reporting that website, not sure what will they say back.Īnd what can they really do, whitelist it,or blacklist or, or not sure. Yes, problem was that I am also unable to report this to avast since there is no file,so they cant analyse this.
